Dissolve the Negativity

If you observe closely, your breathing pattern changes significantly when you are under the influence of powerful emotions. Emotions like fear, desire or anger make your breathing rapid and shallow, while softer emotions like love and happiness can slow down your breathing. Naturally, the reverse can also be true!

This five minute meditation can help change the pattern of the breathing anytime the negative emotions arise.  This can be practiced anywhere by breathing in and out, and visualizing the negative emotions dissolve. By changing the pattern of your breathing, you can actually change the quality of your emotions!

Instructions:

When you are feeling upset about something, just sit by yourself for a few minutes. Close your eyes and start breathing slowly. Take long, deep breaths. As you breathe in, visualize that you are inhaling peace and bliss. As you breathe out, visualize the emotion slowly dissolving inside you and being released through your breath. When the emotion leaves you, it simply evaporates into the air. It dissolves into nothing. With each breath, feel something loosening in your heart, till the emotion is totally dissolved.
