Relief from Sinus Pressure

This fast breathing exercise, called kapalabhati pranayama, helps clear the sinus issues by clearing the heaviness in the head. It stimulates the brain activity to enhance logical and analytical functions. It also helps in the purification of the blood with an increase oxygen supply to the cells and preparing the mind for meditation.


Sit in vajrasana with your back straight and your eyes preferably closed. Inhale and exhale by deliberate rapid abdominal movements. Use only the abdomen and not the chest. Keep the breath short, fast and strong. Continue for as long as possible, for a maximum of 5 minutes. Relax for a while in a seated position after finishing the pranayama.
